You learn the most about yourself when you are uncomfortable.

A few years ago, I decided to live vicariously through myself.

What does that mean?

It meant that instead of waiting for opportunities, I try to make them happen and help others achieve them as well.

Instead of living through someone else’s adventures, I decided to live through my own.

It meant making myself uncomfortable so that I can reach my life’s full potential.

Being uncomfortable is an…

“The currency of real networking is not greed but generosity.” — Keith Ferrazzi

We live in an exciting time in history now. With the rapid development in technology, we can do things people a generation before us could only imagine.

One such example is how we communicate. Not long ago, your circle used to be the people in your region — Family, friends from the neighborhood, classmates from school, and colleagues from work.

Of course, you had a few people connected to others outside of that parameter. …

Do yourself a favor — Don’t worry about pleasing everyone. It never works!

If you want to be YOUR best and perform at a high level you believe you can, the fear of other people’s opinions may be holding you back.

There is a famous saying that should be etched on walls in more prominent places for everyone to see, It goes;

“He who trims himself to suit other people will soon whittle himself away.”

It is exhausting trying to please people with their fickle whims. No matter what you do, people will always comment on it. Good or bad. Critiques or praises — it’s just what we do.

The issue is when…

All you need is 1, but I’ll give you so many options — you will have no choice but to pick up that book.

I am a staunch advocate of reading books. I read ebooks and listen to audio, but I get the most impact from one I can touch. With an actual book, I turn the passive activity of reading into an active one.

During my journey throughout the book, I have a “debate” with the author. I become a rigorous student or devil’s advocate, depending on the subject matter.

I scribble notes and questions in the margins, and always flip back and forth. When I finish, neither I nor the book is ever the same. The book forever changed with my markings…

Before you write me off as a dummy… Let me explain….

Follow my logic for a second.

You are 1 person, the other person makes 2, and if you provide value to them, that becomes 3. The 3 is not a physical person but more of a synergy of creative output that benefits all included.

I was stuck on a difficulty a few days back. I couldn’t solve the challenge on my own and felt helpless. Anycase I told my wife of my dilemma, and she had a great solution. So great and effortless that I couldn’t believe I didn’t see it myself.

No matter what I did — Sleeping on…

Nothing is more fatiguing than the lingering thought of an uncompleted task!

“The dread of doing a task uses up more time and energy than doing the task itself.” — Rita Emmett, author of The Procrastinator’s Handbook.

I was dreading putting new flooring in my basement. I theorized it could take forever. I thought about getting help, but I didn’t want to hire anyone due to the expense. So I was on my own. I had supplies, and I knew how to do it — after all, that’s what Youtube is for.

However, I let procrastination get me. In fact…

I am not going to lie. At the outset of the pandemic, early 2020, I naively thought this virus would have run its course by the beginning of 2021. It was more optimism than logic dominating my thoughts.

Truthfully you can never tell how long a pandemic can last. The best you can do is weather the storm and survive.

Take these examples from history;

“I just need to learn ___________, in order to for me to ___________, then things will really take off.”

Does that phrase sound familiar?

Whatever you fill in the blanks, the outcome is still the same.

If you delay on your business/side business, skill development, or hustle, you will find yourself in perpetual learning mode only.

All your ideas may be solid. But you have to EXECUTE on them for them to matter.

I have gone through several analysis paralysis phases my whole life.

With the abundance of new technology in our interconnected world, now is the best time to start a business. Either full time or on the side. It has never been easier than the present.

There is so much to learn when you bet on yourself or give yourself the challenge of creating your income source(s), as Nassim Nicholas Taleb would describe it as becoming Antifragile.

Being “fragile” in this world is only having one income source that can get shut off by the whims of a boss or tough economy. …

“You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.” — Charlie Tremendous Jones

2020 was by far my most productive year in terms of reading and absorbing content, largely due to the lockdown in the earlier part of the year. It was effortless for me to enjoy Netflix marathons of shows I wanted to catch up on during that time.

While I did partake in a few shows such as “The Wire,” “Contagion,” and my kids’ favorite, “Kobra Kai,” I quickly realized I cannot continue…
